Toronto police charge man with 11 counts arising from 5 bank heists in 2 weeks

TORONTO – Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to several bank robberies across the GTA.

According to investigators, a man committed five robberies in the Toronto area within the last two weeks.

He is also believed to have robbed a bank located on Kingston Road on May 25.

In some cases, the suspect fled in a taxi cab or on public transit.

Michael Johnson, 42, is charged with 10 counts of robbery and one count of weapons dangerous.

He made a court appearance on Monday morning.
