Elderly woman struck and killed in Mississauga hit-and-run

Peel Police are on the hunt after a car struck an elderly woman in Mississauga before fleeing the scene. Carl Hanstke reports.

An elderly woman is dead following a hit-and-run collision in Mississauga.

Peel police responded to a crash in the area of Tomken and Britannia roads around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics say a woman was found without vital signs. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect vehicle fled the area southbound on Tomken Road, according to police.

No vehicle description has been released.

Southbound Tomken is closed at Britannia for the investigation.
