Police investigate dozens of vandalized vehicles in Malton

Police are investigating more than a dozen reports of vehicles being vandalized in Malton.

Peel police say just after 5:30 a.m. Saturday they began recieving calls from residents on Dunrankin Drive and surrounding streets near Morningstar Drive and Goreway Drive about damage to vehicles in the area.

Investigators say they received upwards of 16 reports throughout the morning.

Police are asking anyone who may have surveillance footage to contact them.

Surveillance video obtained by CityNews shows a lone suspect checking out several vehicles in the driveway of a residence just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

The suspect, who is seen wearing a balaclava and a backpack and carrying a flashlight, is seen using a tool to break the driver-side window of a car, lean in and search the vehicle before leaving.
