Man critically injured in shooting in North York underground parking garage

A 30-year-old male is in life-threatening condition after a daytime shooting occurred in a parking garage in North York Thursday afternoon. Catalina Gillies has the details.

Toronto police say a 30-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a shooting in an underground parking garage in a commercial area of North York.

Acting Duty Insp. Jeff Bassingthwaite said officers were called to 9 Bogert Ave., near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue, just after noon on Thursday for a shooting in the entrance of the garage.

Bassingthwaite said the scene is “just down the ramp to the underground parking lot.”

He said it is not yet known if the shooting was targeted.

Bassingthwaite said there is a large police presence in the area as the investigation continues.

There is no word on suspect descriptions at this time.
