Investigation launched into Markham house fire

York Regional Police have launched a criminal investigation into a fire that destroyed a Markham home.
Around 1 a.m. Monday firefighters were called to a home on Eastpine Drive, near Kennedy Road north of Steeles Avenue.
The home was evacuated and one man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police believe more than 10 people were inside the home at the time of the fire.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the fire or has information about the residents of the home.
There has been no word on what caused the blaze.
