About Maria
Maria joined the 680 NewsRadio newsroom in the spring of 2023 as an intern, where she later joined the team as an anchor/reporter/traffic reporter in the fall of that year.
Before 680, she interned at the CBC News Network, producing for their 'Canada Tonight' news program. She studied journalism at Humber College, after completing her Bachelor's Degree in Criminology at Toronto Metropolitan University.
The intersection of current events, crime, politics and social media, as well as her love for the performing arts fueled her passion for broadcasting.
Maria also contributes as a host to the Big Story Podcast - a daily, news podcast program that focusses on telling the bigger story on topics that shape Canada and the world around us.
She's a proud Torontonian, born and raised in the GTA, and is a second generation biracial Canadian of Greek and Armenian heritage.
When she's not in the 680 newsroom, she's either baking in her kitchen, posting on TikTok, or working on her jewellery business.
