About Melissa
Melissa Duggan is the Senior International Reporter and Producer for CityNews. Based in Toronto, she covers the biggest breaking news stories in the world from a Canadian perspective for Citytv stations in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
From a young age, Melissa has always had a passion for journalism and storytelling. Born in Northern Ontario, she grew up in the little town of Whitefish (near Sudbury). After attending school in Toronto and Montreal, she started her broadcasting career in radio newsrooms before shifting to television.
Prior to joining Citytv, her first radio gig was reporting local news at Q92 in Timmins, followed by anchoring morning news as part of a dynamic team on FLOW 93.5 in Toronto. Her transition to TV involved a move to Kingston, where she would go on to anchor and produce several news programs at CKWS/Global TV.
Melissa’s tenure at Citytv started with Breakfast Television as an Associate Producer before she switched to working in front of the camera to cover international news.
When she’s not working on a story deadline, Melissa can usually be found on a patio, under a cozy blanket, on a bicycle, at the beach or a ski chalet – depending on the weather. Say ‘hi’ on Twitter, @meldug.
