About Neetu
I developed a thirst for news early on. My family always reminds me that from as young as five, I would watch and listen to as many news stations I could and try to emulate the reporters.
My passion for journalism only grew in high school, where I became a staple voice on the morning announcement team and eventually the life editor of our school newspaper.
Carleton University’s journalism program was the clear choice for my post-secondary studies. Through their vigorous hands-on program, I realized I thrived in the broadcast world, whether it was television or radio.
Throughout my university career, I freelanced for various publications and productions. And, in the winter of 2007, I interned with CTV’s National, where I had the opportunity to work with phenomenal reporters in my role as chase producer.
I was hired as a line-up editor at 680News in October 2007 and the rest is history. I now also prepare OMNI weekend features and work as a web content editor for the station. I also volunteer with Rogers TV local news in Richmond Hill.
When I’m not at work, dancing takes up much of my time. I love taking part in performances at various shows in and around the GTA. I have been formally trained in jazz, tap and Indian dance.
