Toronto man, 30, charged with sexual assault of 15-year-old girl he was tutoring

Toronto police have charged a 30-year-old tutor with sexual assault related to alleged incidents involving a teenage girl.

Investigators say the accused was an instructor at Oxford Learning Centre in north Toronto.

They say he began communicating over text message and social media platforms with a 15-year-old girl who he tutored.

Police say he met her outside of her tutoring sessions, which is prohibited by the learning centre’s policies.

They allege that he sexually assaulted her several times.

Yue (Alex) Yu is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 31.
