A Mississauga home that was struck by a vehicle suffered extensive fire and structural damage Sunday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police responded to a report of a house fire in the area of Windwood Drive and Starfield Crescent at around 1 p.m.
Const. Bancroft Wright says the living room caught fire after the car drove into it. It’s possible the car may have ignited something inside, but the cause of the fire is not clear at this time.
The home was fully engulfed and it has been determined that the structure cannot be lived in anymore.
Const. Wright says there there were five people in the home and they were all evacuated without any injuries.
Peel paramedics said they transported two males who were inside the crashed vehicle to the hospital. Police said the driver is a 46 year-old-man and the passenger is a 15-year-old boy. They are being treated for minor injuries.
Peel police said this appears to be a medical incident and no charges will be laid.
