Toronto police are looking for a suspect after an 18-year-old was hit in a drive-by shooting in North York Wednesday.
Officers said the victim was walking on the south side of Sheppard Ave. East near Settlers Rd. when someone in a car travelling eastbound slowed down and fired four shots at about 5:30pm. The victim was struck once in the back – his injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Investigators are looking for a black Nissan with a spoiler. It’s believed there were at least two people in the vehicle when the shooting occurred.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.
Accident Involving Stolen Car
Two people were taken into custody by Toronto Police Thursday morning after a stolen car ran into a pole near Church and Gerrard Sts.
The crash occurred at about 3am as officers were set to go after the car. A man and a woman were taken into custody. There’s no word yet on charges.
Missing Couple
Toronto Police need your help in finding missing couple Herbert and Marion Betts. Both 88 years old, they’ve been missing from their Rathburn and Kipling area home since Tuesday.
Herbert is described as:
- 5’7″, 120 to 130 pounds
- Balding, with a grey moustache
Marion is described as:
- 5’4″, with a thin build
- Shoulder length hair
They may be driving a brown, four-door 2000 Buick Century with the licence plate MKW 381. If you see them call 22 Division at 416-808-2200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
West End Stabbing
Toronto Police are investigating a stabbing in the west end.
A man was knifed in the shoulder at an apartment building on Jane Street north of Wilson Thursday morning. The victim apparently fled but police managed to catch up with him. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Three people from the building were taken into custody for questioning.
