Reward Offered For Info On Person Who Shot Dog

Someone armed with a pellet gun pumped six beebees into a one-and-a-half-year-old Weimaraner, as he lay on the porch under the Christmas lights of his Jane and Finch Ave. home Sunday night.
The 40-year-old woman who lives with her best friend is alternately appalled and fearful after the incident, and while her pup named Prince survived the ordeal, he’s been unusually quiet since.
Now the Humane Society of Canada has stepped in to try to up the ante in finding the person who pulled that trigger. They’re offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the shooter.
“The world is full of violence. Whoever committed this brutal act towards ‘man’s best friend’ needs to be found, prosecuted and thrown in jail,” condemns group spokesman Michael O’Sullivan in a statement.
The Society runs a Victims of Cruelty program designed to flush out the cowards who abuse animals.
If the person responsible is caught and found guilty, they can face a $2,000 fine, a six month prison sentence and be prohibited from owning animals for two years.
