Downed tree takes out power lines near Dundas and Sherbourne; TTC streetcars diverting in area

Toronto Hydro crews are working in the area of Dundas Street West and Sherbourne Street after a large tree fell across the road, knocking down power lines.

The area of Dundas Street East and Sherbourne Street has reopened to traffic but streetcars continue to divert after a large tree fell across the road, knocking down power lines.

Police and firefighters were called to the area just before 7 a.m. on Monday, and soon after, hydro was notified.

Dundas was closed between Seaton and Sherbourne streets but reopened just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

The 506 Carlton streetcar is detouring via Spadina Avenue, King Street East, Queen Street West and Broadview Avenue.
