Just a day after an 80-year-old missing man was found wandering along the Lakeshore without a jacket, police are searching for yet another elderly man who vanished from a hospital two days ago and hasn’t been seen since.
Horst Jaudzems was last seen leaving Scarborough General Hospital Sunday afternoon. He jumped in a cab, but never made it home.
His daughter, Erica, is worried that her 73-year-old dad, who is suffering from the early stages of dementia, may be in danger.
“We went to the hospital. They said they discharged him,” she explained. “Then I went back to his place thinking maybe I’ve missed him. So yesterday I called the police.”
“It’s cold outside. What if he’s wandering the streets in the freezing cold?”
She’s also having a difficult time finding a paper trail.
“We haven’t confirmed what cab company it is. We have called several companies. None of them have any records of him,” she adds.
Jaudzems is white, 6’2, 175 to 180 pounds. He has short white hair, blue eyes and is missing his two front teeth. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a blue striped shirt.
