Raptors Lose Season Finale, Will Face Carter’s Nets In Playoffs

The Philadelphia 76ers spoiled Toronto ‘s chance at nailing down their best regular-season record in franchise history Wednesday after handing the Raptors a 122-119 defeat.  

Willie Green scored 37 points to lead the charge for the winners, while Luke Jackson scored a career-high 30 points to top Toronto in the last regular-season game for both clubs.

Chris Bosh added 23 points and nine rebounds.

Toronto rookie Andrea Bargnani made his first appearance since undergoing appendectomy surgery.   He sat a total of 14 games but quickly shed the accumulated rust, scoring 17 points.

T.J. Ford finished with 15 points and 10 assists, while Anthony Parker added 14 points.

The Raptors finished the season with 47-35 record, the same as their 2000-01 campaign, and will now face Vince Carter and his New Jersey Nets in a first round playoff clash.

Before the game the Raptors hoisted their Atlantic Division championship banner from the rafters of the Air Canada Centre.

“We worked very hard this season to accomplish a lot of goals and that was one of our goals, and just to see the banner go up for the fans and this organization is a good feeling,” said Bosh.
