Paris Hilton Sentenced To 45 Days In Jail

She’s become famous for being famous. But now she’ll be known for something else – being the most well known woman in jail. Paris Hilton has finally met her match – and it’s not Nicole Richie. The partying socialite was sentenced to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation.

The millionaire hotel heiress had been caught violating the terms of her release after being involved in an alcohol related reckless driving case. Rumours had been flying for weeks that she could actually face time in the hoosegow, but many celebrity watchers figured she’d be given a break because of her family, her name and her money.

Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer wasn’t having any of it. His ruling, which came down after Hilton arrived almost an hour late for court in L.A., was both swift and stern. And he seems determined to teach her a lesson. He not only put her behind bars, but he’s ordered that she won’t be allowed any work furloughs or alternatives to serving her time, like house arrest with an electronic monitor.

Hilton tried to express remorse for her actions, but it was too late. “I’m very sorry and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything,” she promised before the punishment was announced. “I’m sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all.”

Hilton will still have a month to get her affairs in order. She’s been ordered to report to the women’s jail in Lynwood, California by June 5th. And few expect those 45 days to be a Simple Life.
