Toronto Police raided eleven apartments in two separate buildings on Jameson near King being used to grow marijuana on Thursday morning. A 38-year-old man named Quang Tan Huynh was arrested and now faces 12 charges for the possession and production of the plant.
Cops seized a total of 2,465 cannabis plants along with a large amount of hydroponics equipment from the dwellings, some of them heavily damaged with mould growing on the walls.
Huynh is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Meanwhile, police in York Region shut down a grow-op in Markham. Marijuana plants with a street value of about $180,000 were found in a Stotts Crescent home near Major Mack and Markham Road Thursday morning. A woman has been arrested. It’s believed the home has been used as a grow-op since it was built two years ago.
