After days of waiting for an arrest that was described as imminent, Toronto Police finally have two suspects in custody in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Jordan Manners, shot dead at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Wednesday. Two 17-year-old boys are charged with first-degree murder. Police won’t confirm whether the first was apprehended during a series of raids in the Jane and Finch area Sunday morning that involved heavily-armed Emergency Task Force officers and saw multiple people questioned by Det. Chris Buck, lead investigator in the Manners case. One person was taken into custody following questioning (pictured). After word of the first arrest police declared they were searchig for a second 17-year-old suspect and because he was considered armed and dangerous officals were granted special judicial permission to release his name and picture. Within hours it was announced a second teen had turned himself in to 31 Division, and both suspect’s identities are now protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Monday and police aren’t known to be looking for any other suspects at this time. A news conference is also scheduled for Monday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Buck at (416) 808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).
