Conrad Black Granted Bail

Fallen media mogul Conrad Black was granted bail on Thursday until his sentencing on Nov. 30 for fraud and obstruction of justice convictions.

The conditions of his bail assure that Black will be allowed to travel only to the northern district of Illinois or the district in Florida where he has a home in Palm Beach.

He was convicted of three counts of fraud and one count of obstruction of justice last week. He was released pending the bail hearing, but told to stay in the Chicago area and surrender his passport.

Prosecutors wanted Black jailed until the sentencing hearing because they said he posed a flight risk.
