Raptors Fall To Real Madrid

Things aren’t going very well for the Maple Leafs so far this season, and if Thursday’s pre-season game between the Toronto Raptors and Real Madrid is any indication, there could be tough times ahead for the purple dinos too.  Read Madrid rallied to beat the Raptors 104-103 after Louis Bullock and Charles Smith combined for 45 points.

“It was a nice game for the Spanish public, it was a good show,” Bullock said.

Andrea Bargnani led Toronto with 23 points as the Raptors wrapped up their European tour with an unimpressive 1-2 record.

Jorge Garbajosa scored 15 points for the Raptors and looked good playing with Jose Calderon, who downplayed Toronto’s less-than-impressive record.

“The team has spent time together, I’ve had a chance to show my teammates around. That’s been important. The team won’t be worried about the results of this trip,” Calderon said.

Raptors coach Sam Mitchell, however, wasn’t impressed.

“We haven’t set our starting rotation yet and we need guys to chip in and do the dirty work.”
