Fall Temperatures Finally Descend On T.O.

For so many weeks it seemed like the cold weather would never come, but guess what Toronto : Fall is definitely here, though suddenly it feels a lot more like winter.

After a Thanksgiving that brought T.O.  a record high of 32 degrees Celsius, the temperature dipped down to around the 10-degree mark Saturday, bringing hats, scarves and winter coats out from closets all around the GTA. High winds were also whipping around the city, giving a chilly October day the distinct bite of a November night.

And while it’s not quite time for outdoor hockey and skating just yet, the good news is when the mercury drops a few more degrees the 49 hockey rinks around Toronto, including Nathan Phillips Square, will be open and ready for use in December thanks to a one-time, no-strings-attached donation from MasterCard.

CityNews’ Melissa Grelo was on in the city Saturday seeing how people are getting ready for the months of cold stuff ahead. To see what she found out, click on the video link.
