The same man who was found shot to death in an underground parking garage Friday night was responsible for pulling the trigger that ended 19-year-old Ryan Hyde’s life just hours earlier, Toronto Police confirmed in a news conference Sunday.
Hyde was reportedly sitting in a car parked at a plaza near Birchmount and Bonis just after 1pm when 25-year-old Kennado Walker of Ajax (pictured), approached the vehicle and began shooting at the car striking the targeted victim several times. Hyde was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A post-mortem exam showed that he died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Hours later, officials were called to another murder that supposedly took place in an underground parking garage at 5600 Sheppard Ave. They arrived on scene around 8pm where Kennado, who also went by the names “Weezy” or “Squeeze”, was found dead after being shot several times. Tests show he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
“I would like to speak to any and all of Ryan Hyde’s friends and acquaintances that can provide background information as to why Kennado Walker would want to kill Ryan Hyde,” said Toronto Police Homicide Det. Sgt. Dan Sheppard.
“They had an apparent dispute that lead to both of them being killed,” confirmed Det. Stacy Gallant.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who knew Walker to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts in the hours leading up to his murder.
“I would expect that his friends, colleagues and associates would contact us right away and give us that information,” Gallant said.
Later that night, cops were called to a third murder at O’Connor just north of St. Clair. A father of five, 35-year-old Darryl Debassige from Toronto was found dead in the hallway of an apartment building with multiple stab wounds. No arrests have been made yet.
