Ready, Set, Shred!

You can’t erase the past but you can try to forget it.

At least that’s what some New Yorkers are going to attempt to do at Times Square before the big apple drops on New Year’s Eve.

The city’s Department of Sanitation and the Times Square Alliance will set up shredders for an hour on December 28th so that people can shred everything from photos of ex-lovers to bad report cards. There’ll even be recycling bins for dumping those annoying CDs and fashion disasters.

And to give people that extra push, organizers are going to give away $250 to the person who is the most creative in letting go of their ’07 baggage.

Now if only L.A. got in on the action and had a contest with the grand prize going to the person with the biggest blunders in ’07.
