Peel Cops Probe Malton Homicide

Officers in Peel Region opened the year’s seventh homicide investigation Saturday, following an early-morning shooting in Malton.
Gunfire erupted around 3am in the area of Brandon Gate Drive and Rockhill Road near Finch and Highway 427.
Winston Watson, 47, was found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital, but sadly, died of his injuries there.
“He was transported to an area hospital and later succumbed to his injuries,” confirmed Peel Const. J.P. Valade.
Investigators are appealing for information from witnesses and have yet to release a suspect description or possible motive, though it’s believed a light-coloured vehicle was spotted leaving the scene.
