Suspects Shoot Innocent Bystander While Fleeing Robbery

A Toronto man was the unsuspecting target of gunfire Friday night after he attempted to help his next-door neighbours, who were being robbed.

At about 10pm, the 50-year-old was standing outside his home near Lawrence Ave. E. and Leslie St. when he heard shouts for help.

He dialed 911 on his cell phone. But as he did, the suspects ran out of the house and one of them shot him in the foot.

The two men then drove away in a black Honda or Acura.

The victim suffered only minor injuries and was treated in hospital. His two neighbours were not harmed during the incident.

The suspects are described as:

  • Male
  • 5’9”
  • Last seen wearing dark clothing
