The Toronto Humane Society’s wildlife rehabilitation licence has been revoked by the province.
That means the Society can no longer take in animals like raccoons and squirrels.
Natural Resources Minister Donna Cansfield said the licence was issued under the name of head veterinarian Steve Sheridan who now faces criminal animal cruelty charges.
Cansfield told The Globe and Mail the licence is non-transferable.
Dr. Sheridan, THS president Tim Trow and three other THS managers were charged with animal cruelty almost two weeks ago.
One of their bail conditions ban them from coming within 500 metres of the River St. shelter.
