Powerful Earthquake Hits Indonesia

Indonesia’s northwest island of Sumatra has been hit with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

Despite the strength of the quake, there were no immediate reports of casualties or widespread damage.

A tsunami warning was issued, sending residents rushing for higher ground, but it has since been lifted.
