After deeming her death suspicious, Toronto police said Thursday night a woman found dead in her Lumsden Ave. apartment may be due to a pre existing medical condition.
Toronto police were called to the highrise unit at 444 Lumsden Ave. in the Main and Danforth Ave area around 11 am. They discovered the woman’s body in her eighth floor unit. She had suffered from obvious signs of trauma, but they didn’t reveal her identity.
Police arrested a man at the scene, who neighbours told CityNews was the victim’s husband.
It now seems the man, whoever he may be, was arrested for violating a restraining order that prohibited him from being in the woman’s apartment building.
A post-mortem exam will be conducted on Saturday. The man will be appearing at the College Park courthouse Friday.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact 54 division at 416-808-5400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
