Jamaican kingpin has connection to Toronto

There is a Toronto link to the current state of emergency in Jamaica.

At least two police officers and a civilian were killed in a gun-battle in downtown Kingston after the Jamaican government announced it would extradite an alleged kingpin to New York to face drug and gun trafficking charges.

The Shower Posse lead by Christopher “Dudus” Coke, who is the target of Jamaican police and soldiers over the last couple of days, had a foothold in Toronto in the 80’s and early 90’s.

Coke sold drugs on the streets of Toronto to local gangs such as the Falstaff Crips.

Organized crime expert James Dubro told 680News that the Shower Posse is still entrenched in Toronto.

“They’re still arranging. They don’t have to be here to arrange the drugs to get here.  Drug trafficking is an extremely completed web of people around the world.” said Dubro.

More than a thousand Jamaican police and soldiers have been waging a major offensive over the last couple of days that Christopher Coke controls.
