Leafs acquire Chicago Blackhawks forward in five-player deal

TORONTO, Ont. – The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a large trade just in time for Canada Day.

The hockey organization has acquired Kris Versteeg from the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade which involves five players.

The forward had 44 points in 79 regular season games during the 2009-2010 NHL season, and had an additional 14 points in the post season, and went on to win the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks.

The Leafs have given up forwards Viktor Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis in the deal.

However, the organization will also acquire the rights to left-winger Bill Sweatt.
