Fire rips through Whitby apartment complex

TORONTO, Ont. – A fire has damaged a low-rise apartment complex in Whitby, Ont., Wednesday, forcing residents to leave their homes, possibly for a while.

The fire started just after midnight on the roof of the apartment, located on Dundas Street Street, west of Brock Street.

At least 16 units were damaged.

The building’s electrical system may have been damaged.

No injuries were reported.
