Harper unveils plan for Mississauga BRTs

Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in Mississauga, Tuesday, for the ground-breaking of the bus rapid transit (BRT) project in Mississauga.
Harper called the East-West bus corridor in Mississauga the public transit equivalent of a super highway. He added that when construction wraps in 2013, the GTA will be fully connected.
“This will be a key link in the 100 kilometre V.R.T. corridor connecting municipatlities all the way from Oakville to Pickering,” Harper said.
The right-of-way bus lanes will run between Winston Churchill and Renforth drives.
The route includes 12 stops along the way with connectors to north and south routes.
The big blue buses have built in Wi-Fi, along with big comfy seats and large windows.
