Downtown frosh frenzy with two university parades
TORONTO, Ont. – Ryerson University students took part in a parade in downtown Toronto, Friday, as part of frosh week.
It was one of two large university student parades that took place. University of Toronto students also took part in one that started at 2:30 p.m.
The Ryerson Students’ Union parade started at about noon and travelled down Yonge Street, to Front Street, to Bay Street and then ended at the ferry docks.

About 7,000 first year students were expected to attend the University of Toronto Students’ Union parade.
The parade started at 2:30 p.m. at the front campus made its way over to Yonge Street where it moved down to College and then back up to the school up St. George Street.
The students wore shirts in the colour of their specific courses of study and painted their face as they cheered along the parade path.
Many people came out to cheer on the new students as they peacefully made their way through the city.
