A 23-year-old Mississauga woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a car Thursday night.
Lindsay Tamminga was walking with a friend when, just after 11pm, they began crossing Creditview Road at an intersection south of the 401. Police say a car driving northbound on Creditview then struck Tamminga and continued north without stopping.
Tamminga was taken to a local hospital, but was soon transferred to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening head injuries.
Collision bureau and forensic officers are investigating. They are urging the driver to get a lawyer and surrender, and are also asking auto repair shops to look out for the suspect vehicle, a dark-coloured sedan with front-end damage.
