Twitter fixes bug that opened third-party websites

TORONTO, Ont. – It’s safe to tweet again, Twitter said Tuesday, after it was hit with a bug.

The bug on the micro-blogging website directed thousands of browsers to third-party websites by simply rolling the pointer over a link.

Twitter’s safety team sent out a patch to kill the virus, and now said the site is no longer exploitable.
