TORONTO, Ont. – It’s carpool week in Ontario, and drivers are being asked to consider sharing a ride.
Those who do share a ride said carpooling not only saves them time, but also money.
A driver names Zahn from Milton, Ont., said he carpools with his wife every morning and that it is a huge money-saver.
“My work shift […], my starting time is close to my wife’s starting time, so she drops me off and then she gets to work just about on time herself,” he said.
It’s estimated that two drivers sharing a 50-kilometre return commute five days a week will each save $50 a month on gasoline.
