July 29 – This week of Bamoseda

First Nation citizens on some reserves or settlements now have more options to purchase or renovate homes.

There’s been changes to the way the federal government is handing First Nation specific claims, and that’s not sitting well with First Nation leadership.

The National Metis Council said a recent Supreme Court of Canada decision affirms Metis rights.

The Grand Council Chief of the Anishinabek Nation thinks there was some over-reaction at the recent Assembly of First Nations Annual General meeting.

Revitalizing and retaining Anishinabemowin or the Ojibway language is one woman’s goal in northwestern Ontario. She’s organizing a language camp.
