Only two days into 2012 and Toronto records two homicides

TORONTO – It’s only January 2 and Toronto is already at it’s second homicide of the year.
24-year-old Michael Pimentel was stabbed to death in the city’s west end just before 3 p.m., Sunday.
Police said it appears Pimentel, who had been at a party, may have got into a fight at the corner of East Liberty and Hanna Streets.
Pimentel was a father of a 5-year-old child. His sister told CityNews, she wants answers.
“If anybody knows what went on that night, please come forward. Help us find that person out there, he can hurt somebody else out there. Please, lets get him off the streets,” cried Pimentel’s sister.
Meanwhile, investigators are still looking for clues in the city’s first homicide case, which happened only an hour and a half later.
20-year-old Jamal Franklin, was shot around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the Finch Avenue and Neilson Road area.
There have been no arrests in either Franklin’s or Pimentel’s homicide case.
