Update on city worker’s collective bargaining negotiations expected Thursday

TORONTO, Ont. – Negotiators are set to provide an update on collective bargaining with city workers to the Employee and Labour Relations Committee, Thursday.
The Ontario Labour Relations has appointed a conciliator to oversee negotiations, but they have not yet met with both sides.
This comes after deputy mayor Doug Holyday told the Toronto star that if there is a strike or lockout of city workers, the Ford administration would prefer it happen in the winter.
Contracts representing about 32,500 city workers expired on December 31.
