Lopes-Schliep 2nd in hurdles comeback

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Priscilla Lopes-Schliep’s comeback has officially begun.
The 29-year-old from Whitby, Ont., raced to a second-place finish in her return to competition Saturday, six months after becoming a mom.
Lopes-Schliep ran 8.33 seconds in the 60-metre hurdles final, a time that’s on pace with previous season-openers. She ran 8.28 in a morning heat.
Nikkita Holder of Pickering, Ont., won the invitational race — held in conjunction with the Quebec university championships — in 8.11.
Marie-Eve Dugas of Laval, Que., was third in 8.40 seconds.
Lopes-Schliep, a bronze medallist at the 2008 Olympics and the world’s No. 1-ranked hurdler in 2010, gave birth to daughter Nataliya in September.
She’s considered a medal contender at this summer’s London Games.
