TTC customer service now on Twitter

The TTC has set up a dedicated Twitter account and extended its hotline for customer service.

Now, anyone with questions, concerns or comments can tweet @TTChelps instead of filling out a form on the commission’s website.

By Thursday afternoon, the account already had more than 400 followers eager to air grievances and seek information.

“@TTChelps Please help me understand why a schedule is SET for 56 Leaside at Donlands St. but not followed? EVER? Arrivals and departures,” read one tweet from @mizchawls.

And‏ @addvaluealways asked this earnest question: “@TTChelps Why don’t TTC vehicles have garbage bins, if any, for patrons to dispose their garbage in?”

Reps will also take calls seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. — up from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays only.

“The public has shared their desire to contact the TTC beyond normal business hours,” the TTC said in a statement.

“The TTC listened and has taken action to improve when and how customers contact it as part of its revitalized customer service efforts.”

The customer service centre at Davisville Station will continue to operate Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The TTC will continue to tweet service alerts using @TTCnotices.
