Houston died of accidental drowning: autopsy

Accidental drowning was the cause of pop star Whitney Houston’s death, an autopsy report released Thursday revealed.

Coroner’s officials said heart disease and chronic cocaine use contributed to her death.

Houston, 48, was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11 — the eve of the Grammy Awards.

Bottles of prescription medication were found in her room, but officials said they weren’t in excessive quantities.

Traces of marijuana, Xanax and benadryl was also found in her system.

Houston was buried in a New Jersey cemetery, next to her father.
