ORNGE founder declared unfit to testify

TORONTO, Ont. – The man formerly at the helm of ORNGE has been declared unfit to testify in front of a Queen’s Park committee probing the air ambulance scandal.

The Toronto Star reports that two psychiatrists have found Dr. Chris Mazza not medically fit.

He had been served with a speakers warrant and was supposed to testify a week May 16.

Mazza founded the $150-million a year air ambulance agency in 2005, then took it on a ride with poor, often lavish, spending choices.

His salary, bonus and interest free loans totalled about $2.6-million last year.

Hearings resume Wednesday with testimony from former ORNGE aviation boss Rick Potter.
