A man was arrested after pulling out a knife and making threats at a municipal office in the Markham Road and Milner Avenue area on Friday afternoon.
It’s believed the man was at 1530 Markham Rd. to settle a parking ticket when he became agitated.
Police rushed to the scene and took the man into custody following a brief negotiation. No one was hurt.
“There was a guy with a knife and he was masked, and he was threatening people and telling people to split up into groups,” said witness Aishwarya, who didn’t provide a last name.
Markham Road was closed between Highway 401 and Sheppard Avenue East for the police investigation. And only one eastbound lane of Milner was open.
