4 new construction projects to affect major Toronto roads

Summer may have been a season in hell for frustrated drivers in Toronto as they tried to navigate a slew of construction projects, but it doesn’t look like fall will offer much relief.
On Monday the city announced four new construction projects that will affect main roads and further snarl city traffic.
Here’s a look at the projects and affected areas:
- Richmond Street from Church Street to Power Street will be pared down to just two lanes for road repairs and resurfacing. Sidewalk repairs will also take place. The city says two lanes will be maintained at all times. The work begins in late September and will continue for about 11 weeks.
- The southbound lanes of Spadina Road will be closed from St. Clair Avenue to Russell Hill Drive for bridge rehabilitation work. The northbound lanes will be maintained at all times. The work starts in late September and will stretch until late December.
- One northbound lane of Lower Sherbourne Street will be closed between Front Street and The Esplanade for road work and to install a bike lane. The eight week job starts in early October.
- The intersection of Bathurst and Dundas streets will be closed in all directions for TTC track replacement, water-main work and roadway and sidewalk repairs. The closure runs from November 3 – November 20.
