Man rescued from car after crashing into pole on Queensway

A man has been rescued from inside his car after hitting a pole near the Queensway and High Street, east of Park Lawn on Sunday.
Police were called to the area around 7:30 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle collision.
The driver was trapped inside his vehicle after what police called a “significant impact.”
The man was unconscious when emergency crews arrived at the scene and he was rushed to hospital. His injuries were later determined to be non-life threatening.
Police say gas was leaking from the vehicle and people are asked to avoid the area as crews investigate and clean up the scene.
The Queensway is closed between The Kingsway and Royal York for investigation.
