Ontario investing $633M to build 2 CAMH facilities

The Ontario government is investing $633 million towards the construction of two new facilities at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
“The funds will make a huge impact when it comes to people that work here, day in and day out,” Premier Doug Ford said at a news conference that was held at CAMH.
One of the new projects is the Crisis and Critical Care Building, which will include emergency mental health care, specialized clinics and 125 inpatient beds.
The McCain Complex Care and Recovery Centre will consist of 110 beds to support patients with more serious mental health challenges, specialized programs and services, as well as research and education.
Ford was accompanied by Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Christine Elliott, and Minister of Infrastructure Monte McNaughton.
The Ontario government is also joining forces with Ottawa to invest $3.8 billion in mental health over the next 10 years.
