House belonging to Barry and Honey Sherman to be demolished
The home belonging to slain billionaire couple Barry and Honey Sherman will be demolished.
On Tuesday, North York Community Council approved a request by the family to level the house.
“I was praying that it went that route. Spoken to a lot of the neighbours who are appreciative that we are taking the house down,” said Eric Kirshenblatt of RKS Building Group, who has been acting on behalf of the family.

Kirshenblatt said the home will be demolished in three to four weeks. The property will then be put up for sale.
An application for a demolition permit for 50 Old Colony Rd. was submitted Feb. 11 by a representative of the family.
The Shermans were found dead inside the North York home by a real estate agent in December 2017. Their home had been up for sale at the time of their death.
Police initially treated the scene as a murder-suicide but autopsy results showed the couple died from “ligature neck compression.”
It wasn’t until late January that police said they were treating the deaths as a double homicide.
