TTC’s first zero emission electric bus delivered
The first of the TTC’s zero emission electric buses was delivered Monday — part of the transit provider’s ongoing green initiatives.
It will undergo testing for the next few weeks before entering regular service later this spring.
The e-bus from manufacturer New Flyer has no tailpipe emissions and in Ontario, the electricity used to charge it overnight is nuclear and free of greenhouse gas emissions.

The bus is one of 60 that will be incorporated into the TTC’s fleet, which is also slated to include clean diesel and hybrid electric vehicles by the end of the year.
The environmentally friendly fleet is part of the TTC’s plan to be 50 per cent emissions free by 2032 and 100 per cent emissions free by 2040.
