Police issue warning after poison reportedly found in North York park
Toronto police have issued a warning after poison was reportedly left in peanut butter at a North York park.
Officers were called to Cassandra Greenbelt Park early Saturday morning after several deceased wild animals were found in the area.
Investigators believe the undetermined poison may have been left in the park area and it has the potential to harm children or small animals. The delivery method of the poison is believed to have been peanut butter.

“We don’t know what the substance is, but our conclusion is that if small animals have died and we believe it is from this, then it would be harmful to children and other small animals,” said Const. Scott Mills.
“We don’t want to cause alarm and panic, but we want people to be aware,” he added.
If you frequent the park and your child or animal shows any unusual symptoms, you are encouraged to go to the doctor.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police.
